PS3 Update Adds Full-Screen Flash Video

If we used our PS3s for web browsing, which we most pointedly do not, this would be a great week! Sony's PS3 firmware upgrade 2.53, which went out yesterday, enabled full-screen flash video playback on the console.
And while the update might seem trivial, it actually has us rethinking our no-browsing-on-the-PS3 policy: full-screen flash video means the ability to opt for the 480p option on Hulu, which would come in very handy if you're using your PS3 to watch streaming video.
I did try out Hulu on my PS3 and while it works and looks decent, it's definitely a second-tier option at the very least: you're still better off streaming video to your laptop, which is a shame considering all the valuable television screen real estate the PS3 is capable of corralling for other purposes.
