Sony Drops 16,000 Jobs

OK, we get it, the American economy is in a Recession, and it appears that many others are as well. Check, understood, thanks! So, can we stop cutting jobs please? I mean, seriously, please? It's a tadly bit scary.

Sony today announced they will be cutting 16,000 employees from their line up, 8k full-timers and another 8k part-time and contract workers. Apparently, winning a format war doesn't really equate to financial success. Also, Geisha Robots aren't really in high demand these days... you know, just for future reference.

My heart goes out to those Sony employees that got laid off, and you can be sure I'll be having a drink in their honor tonight.
