Oh Dear Lord, It's Windows 7 Beta Time

Windows 7 in 2009?Oh, CES. You always fill us with such joy and glee. Such wonderful gadgets and gizmos are always talked about and shown to us, many of them will never actually release, or if they do, we'll never get to play with them.

Not so true with Windows 7 though. We've been following the development of the new Microsoft Operating System for a while now, and it seems that it is inevitably getting closer and closer to release date. But perhaps more exciting is that the official Windows 7 Open Beta will begin tomorrow night. As of Friday, January 9, we can all go and download the Beta Build of the OS that's like Vista only better (in theory).

Personally, I'm not a Beta OS kind of guy. I'm just not that adventurous. What I do find interesting is that the Beta is being released so soon. I'm not so sure I believe MS's proposed 2010 release schedule if they are already pumping out the first round of Open Beta.

If you want to give it a shot, you should be able to grab it at the Windows 7 page tomorrow night. Let us know what you think once you've given it the ol' college try.

Hey, well I have had the beta version for a while (1 week so far) and it feels just like Vista, just toned down... navigation is the same, look and feel just like vista. pages do seem to load faster, and there seems to be a quicker response time between minimizing, maximizing, opening and closing than when using vista... I dont see a huge difference... I dont know what the pricepoint will be, but I cant see people paying a lot to switch or upgrade to this from vista or XP...
